This was a 3-acre property in a floodplain. The only way to get a building permit was to design a floating house on stilts. This would allow water to flow under the structures. By creating a dry lakebed, you feel like you really are floating over water. By separating the buildings, you are required to walk outside each night to get to your bedroom suite. Under the stars, in the rain and wind, you experience nature. This was the idea.
