Feed Store

This was an old building built in the 1880s that had a very colorful history. When I came to Westcliffe in the late 1980s, it was abandoned and falling apart. Against my better judgement, I bought it and spent six years restoring it turning it into a restaurant and three apartments. On the bright side, I bought property around it and created a park, planted a thousand trees and built an underground amphitheater for music, plays and old movies for the community called Summer in the Park. I did this for ten years which gave me great pleasure. Check out Carlson’s Dime Novel — a history of the Feed Store.
